Earth's Interior Layers

You now know that the inside of our Earth is divided into layers.

If we are talking about the layers based on composition, there are 3; crust, mantle, core.

If we are talking about the layers based on physical properties, there are 5; lithosphere, asthenosphere, mesosphere, outer core, inner core.

You also learned that it is not possible to drill to the center of the Earth. Even if we had a drill that was long enough, it would melt way before reaching Earth's core.

Since it is not possible to drill to the center of the Earth, how do you think we know that the inside of the Earth is divided into layers? Think about this question for a minute. Then, take a guess at what the answer might be.
